leadership in its

RIGHTFUL STATE

When God created man in his mind was a leader who was to take dominion over the whole world but, as the story goes he lost it to the devil and the story precedes to the reveal the restoration strategy: Salvation and Bla! Bla! Bla! We get saved. Depending on what perspective you view it a great leader is introduced to us - the Lord Jesus Christ whom I would like to call the untainted image of true leadership. What does he do when he is alive he? Commands a following where at the present time we call them Christians. Their main job to continue to make a following like he did and showing the whole world how to live a more righteous life, a more fulfilled and a heavenly approved approach to living. So, we are talking about a chain of leadership in the name of Christianity but the BIG question is, you as a Christian do you perceive your life as that of leadership in the making, that the people around you expect you to show them how to go through some sticky situations? John C. Maxwell says “A leader knows the way, goes the way and shows the way". So how do you become a good leader one may ask.

Be a leader one would like to follow

The key to become an effective leader is not to focus on making other people follow, but on making yourself the kind of person they want to follow. Embrace the following:-

1. LET GO OF YOUR EGO. True great leaders are not in leadership for personal gain but lead in order to serve other people.

2. BEOME A GOOD FOLLOWER FIRST. Rare is the effective leader who didn't learn to become a good follower first.

3. BUILD POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS. Leadership is influence, nothing more nothing less. Title and position should mean so little to you. People go along with people go along with people they get along with.

4. WORK WITH EXCELLENCE. No one respects and follows mediocrity. Give your all to what you do. Bring into play not only your skills and talents, but also great passion and hard work. Perform on the highest of which you are capable.

5. RELY ON DISCIPLINE, NOT EMOTION. Leadership is often easy on the good times but when things seem to be against you, when you are out of energy and you don't want to lead- that is when you earn your place as a leader. During every season leaders face crucial moments when they must choose between gearing up or giving up. To make it through those times rely on the rock of discipline not the shifting sand of emotions.

6. MAKE ADDING VALUE YOUR GOAL. Adding value to your leadership and the highest calling of leadership and its highest value is that of helping people live better lives and reach their Potential.

7. GIVE YOUR POWER AWAY. One way of the ironies of leadership is that you become a better leader by sharing whatever power you have not by saving it for your self.

Be the uncommon leader

So after eternalizing the above into your character you have to identify the class of leader that you fit in. There are this kind of leaders of leaders people kind of ignore or are just victims of their ignorance I call them the uncommon leaders. These are the men and women who lead on the highest level and are quite extraordinary. They have their priorities on line:-

FUTURISTS - Their dreams are bigger than their memories.

LOBBYISTS - Their cause outlives and outspeaks their critics.

CATALYSTS - They initiate movement and momentum for others

SPECIALISTS - They don’t do everything, they do one thing well.

OPTIMISTS - They believe on their cause and their beyond reason.

ECONOMISTS - They value every resource as a steward of their cause.

ACTIVISTS - They are doers and empower others by their actions.

STRATEGISTS- They plan how to use every resource available to be successful.

ENTHUSIASTS - They have a passion that defies logic and magnetically attract others.

PRAGMAGTICS - Their legacy is that they solve the practical problems people face.

INDUSTRIALISTS - They roll up their sleeves and work hard.

FINALISTS - They labor with diligence and dedication to the end so that they finish well.

Have a vision

Vision is the indispensable quality of leadership. All effective leaders have a vision of what they must accomplish. That vision becomes the energy behind every effort and the force that pushes through all the problems. With vision a leader is on a mission. His or her contagious spirit is felt among the crowd until others begin to rise alongside. That is leadership in its rightful place.
